The Flaming Lips have been making their way across the US, performing at many of the summers biggest music festivals. They are happy to announce one more, the 2010 Austin City Limits Festival. The Flamings Lips are just one of many headlining acts including The Eagles, Muse, Phish, The Strokes and M.I.A.
On October 8-10th, the Zilker Park in Austin, TX will host the annual 3-day event. Festival go-ers have 46 acres of the best in local cuisine and fashion, 130 plus artists from around the world, and even fun for the kids! The Flaming Lips and Wayne Coyne are geared up for a jampacked summer of touring and festival appearances. Justintimberlake.com caught up with Wayne at his home in Oklahoma to discuss the making of Embryonic, their highly anticipated performance at this year’s Bonnaroo festival, and more!
The folks at JT.com decided to host the first ever Supersonic Portrait of Wayne interview. As the interview was being conducted, LA-based painter S.A. Richard and San Francisco-based illustrator David Fullarton, created portraits of Coyne.

The Flaming Lips are touring in 2010 with support from Stardeath and White Dwarfs. Not only will the bands be hitting cities across the U.S., but they’ll also be playing at several festivals.
The tour is scheduled to kick off on March 12 in Austin, Texas, and end on July 26 in New York, New York. Some tour highlights include the NX Music Conferette on March 13 in Denton, Texas; The Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 11; and the Central Park SummerStage for their last show.
The Flaming Lips released two albums last year. The first, “Embryonic” came out in October, and on Dec. 22, the group released a remake of “The Dark Side Of The Moon” (1973) by Pink Floyd.
