The Flaming Lips announce plans for one new song per month in 2011
The Flaming Lips are trying something new this year by releasing a new song every month instead of saving them all up for one big album.
Lips frontman Wayne Coyne told Rolling Stone that “With this new thing, we’re going to spend a lot of time recording at our houses or wherever we are at. We’ll try to release a song a month and document the song in the making, whether it takes us three or five days or a week. …We just want to [release material] some other way.”
As of now, there’s no strategy to releasing the new music, which Covey said could even take the format of a vinyl or cereal box.
